Translation: Song-dynasty Huizhong, surname Zhao, name Jieguo, sobriquet Chongning Daguan, Zhenghe, Chonghe, Xuanhe, etc, was skilled in landscapes and flowers-and-birds. Dotting the eyes of the birds with lacquer was his invention.

Translation: Jin-dynasty Gu Kaizhi, a native of Wushi, zi Changkang, xiaozi Hutou, sobriquet Gu hutou, was skilled in painting. The Admonitions of the Instructress to the Court Ladies is Kaizhi's surviving work.

Translation: The beautiful woman walks alone with cold words, separated only by a peacock screen in the central hall. The smoke of incense has not yet faded but the light is near its end. The attending maid knows [she is] reading the transcendent scriptures. Tang Yin.

Translation: Li Longmian's strolls of Five Horse all depicted famous species/ This emulates his jinbocong horse. Although it does not dare to be mistaken for the authentic work it is quite able to show the profundity in his use of brush/ For this [I] can not help but be pleased. Qingming of bingshu (1946) written by Li Fenggong

Translation: Someone farmed the green fields after rain. Gao Qieyuan painted with his fingers, which was particularly vigorous. Fenggong imitated his method on the Upper Prime Festival of the year bingshu (1946)
